Become a member of Glenwood Springs Gun Club and support safe, responsible shooting and stewardship of the South Canyon range.

We are a private, member-supported club. Membership provides authorized range access, subject to club rules, range availability, and scheduled use by law enforcement or other activities.

Membership options

  • New or rejoining membership — $150
    For first-time members, or returning members whose membership has lapsed for more than a year or whose membership years are not consecutive.

  • Annual renewal — $120
    For members renewing for the next consecutive calendar year.

Calendar-year membership: Memberships are valid for the current calendar year and must be renewed annually.

New and renewing members complete all three steps each year: a fresh Participant Waiver, membership application, and payment.

1. Sign your Participant Waiver

Members and guests use the same Participant Waiver. Sign a new waiver before applying and at each annual membership renewal. Membership cannot be approved without a signed waiver on file.

2. Complete your application

After signing the waiver, complete the membership application. Use the mailing address where you want to receive your membership card.

3. Pay your membership dues

Once your waiver and application are complete, choose the payment option that matches your membership. The $120 renewal rate applies to consecutive membership years. First-time members and members returning after a lapse of more than a year or a break in consecutive membership years pay $150.

What happens next

Once we receive your waiver, application, and payment, we will process your membership and mail your physical membership card to the address you provided. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days.

Before your first visit

New members must complete the membership requirements and an in-person orientation before using the range. Review the orientation guide, emergency procedures, and range rules before heading to the range. Keep the Emergency Action Plan handy for reference during your visit.

The range is in South Canyon, outside Glenwood Springs. Access is controlled by a locked gate.

Pick up a range key

  1. Visit the Glenwood Springs Community Center.

  2. Bring a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID.

  3. Present your current Glenwood Springs Gun Club membership card.

Return your key within 48 hours of checkout. Lock the gate after every entry and exit, even if others remain, except during managed events or emergency access. Preserve authorized neighboring access. When safe, a helper may open and keep the gate open for responders; do not delay care or evacuation. Do not lend keys or disclose the combination to nonmembers, except to facilitate emergency access. No unauthorized duplication or transfer is permitted.

Bringing a guest?

Every participant, including members, guests, and observers, must have a signed Participant Waiver on file before entering the range. Complete one waiver per participant. Adults sign for themselves; a parent or legal guardian signs a separate waiver for each minor. Nonmembers must renew whenever requested by the Club.

Sponsoring members must verify their guests’ waivers, remain immediately physically present during firearm handling, enforce the rules, and stop unsafe activity. Approved classes, events, and agency sessions follow their organizer’s supervision and waiver procedures. Financial responsibility is governed by section 3 of the Participant Waiver.

Bringing a minor

A parent or legal guardian must sign for each minor. An accompanying adult needs their own current adult waiver. Every minor must be accompanied by a member. Junior Members must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is a Regular Member. A parent/legal guardian, or for other minors an authorized adult age 18 or older, must directly supervise at all times and remain within immediate physical reach during firearm handling. A new adult waiver is required at age 18.

To authorize another supervising adult, contact contact@glenwoodspringsgunclub.org before your visit so the club can arrange the parent’s authorization and that adult’s separate acceptance. The authorization must identify the child and supervisor and include an expiration date. A substitute supervisor cannot sign the parent’s release.

Membership reminders

  • Carry your physical or approved digital membership card while at the range.

  • All members and guests must follow the Range Rules and range safety policies.

  • The range may be reserved for law enforcement training or scheduled activities. Members are responsible for checking the Range Calendar before visiting.

  • Unsafe activity must stop immediately and may result in removal or protective access suspension. Permanent membership expulsion is decided by the Board under the bylaws.
